Before you even touch your files, start by creating a basic outline of what records you have and how you want them to be organized. ![]() ![]() #How to organize your bills filing system portableMake sure your bill home is portable if you typically complete bill paying tasks elsewhere in your home. Now, let’s walk through the steps of actually creating a file system that works. When I process my mail each day, I place bills in the Bills to Pay folder of my action file system. Again, this will significantly cut down on your paperwork while still making all of your bills easily accessible to you. Have one place in your home where all incoming paper bills will live. As soon as you receive the email, place it into the Bills to Pay and then move it to the Bills Paid once you have paid it. If you tend to receive your bills through email, create a folder in your email system specifically for Bills to Pay and Bills Paid. ![]() Again this will significantly cut down on your paperwork.
